Banding
A community of disciples dedicated to practicing the way of Jesus, together.
Where you belong shapes who you become.
A band is an intentionally small group of three to five women or men committed to a rule of life, who meet weekly (or bi-weekly) to engage in transformational questions and to pray for one another. Banding is one of the ways that we experience connection and practice community at Eden.
It’s often been said “if you want to go fast, go alone; but if you want to go far, go together.” So we find that spiritual growth is as close as a few other people who are willing to band together.
Band meeting Format
Start with an Opening Prayer
01 How is it with your soul?
02 How are the Scriptures and Spirit speaking to you?
03 How’s it going living by your rule of life (& your “area of focus”)? Where are you seeing some wins? What are you struggling to put into practice?
04 Considering the four layers of sin, is there anything you need you need to confess to the group or wish to keep secret?
05 Have you been honest in all your answers today?
End with a Closing Prayer
Throughout the week:
01 Check-in on each other
02 Give prayer requests
03 Keep each other accountable to Sunday teachings + weekly practices
Format following a Spiritual Health Reflection
Start with an Opening Prayer
01 How is it with your soul?
02 What was coming up for you when taking the reflection (i.e. joy, shame, guilt, disappointment, surprise, etc?)
03 Where are you seeing growth (I.e. celebrations) since your last completed reflection?
04 What are your blind spots?
05 What are your momentum markers (areas you feel invited to continue to grow)?
06 What areas make up your “growth edge”? What are 1-2 areas from this category that you sense from the Holy Spirit to focus on?
07 Do you need to modify, add, subtract anything from your rule of life in light of this reflection?
08 Considering the four layers of sin, is there anything you need to confess to the group or wish to keep secret?
09 Have you been honest in all your answers today?
End with an Closing Prayer

Rule of Life
A rule of life is how we practice the way of Jesus together. Your rule of life is not rigid; it should change as you change.
