Sabbath. Tables.

Practicing the way of Jesus through eating and drinking, together.

Share life
together around
the table.

The history of the church is around the table. For hundreds of years, this is where the people of Jesus met. The gospel spread from one table to the next. From one home to another. All over a meal.

The table is a very ordinary place. But by setting a table and sharing a meal, we provide the context for which people feel loved, where people feel heard; a place where God's spirit can move.

We take time each week to start Sabbath through eating a meal together, share the bread and cup of communion, pray for one another, and share life together.  In this ordinary rhythm, our kitchen tables become sacred spaces of celebration and remembrance of our hope in Jesus.

FAQs

What does a typical Sabbath. Table. look like?

We put our phones away in order to be fully present. We light two candles to symbolize the Sabbath commands in Exodus and Deuteronomy. We say a short sabbath meditation, bless the Kids, and honor the table as a place where God Himself communes with us. We ask good questions and practice active listening. We eat, drink, and practice gratitude. And we all pitch in to help clean up.

Can anyone come? What if I am not a Christian, or not sure what I believe right now?

Then you’re in good company. Eden is built for the curious, the unconvinced, and the hopeful. You don’t have to believe to belong. Jesus ate and drank with plenty of people who didn’t believe in Him- so much so the religious elite called him a glutton and drunkard (Matthew 11.19). And He wishes to commune with you, too.
