Is the Bible still relevant?
The Bible (or Scripture) is a library of writings both divine and human, that tell a unified story, leading us to Jesus. But are the words in this strange, ancient library still relevant? Do they still mean anything to us today?
To Jesus, the Bible is trustworthy. To Jesus, the Bible has authority. The scriptures were designed to be read for formation. To shape us into the image of Jesus. In this library, we find life. In this library, we find a new way to be human.
Baseline Practice: Daily reading of Scripture.
Scripture Practice
Below is an 8-part conversation to help you explore what the Scriptures are (and what they are not), along with ways to read and approach the Scriptures. Every week, there are practices and exercises to help integrate what you’ve learned into your everyday life. We suggest you start with these conversations in your journey with the Scriptures; however, if you wish to go ahead and start reading, click here.

Four Approaches
Historically, there are four practices the church has done that we believe are essential to life with God in the Scriptures:
01 Reading through the entire Library of Scripture
02 Studying the Scriptures
03 Meditating on the Scriptures (Lectio Divina)
04 Putting the Scriptures to Memory
We believe you should aim to find a healthy diet of all four practices over the course of your life and apprenticeship to Jesus. To that end, you will find various plans and resources below that will help you in your journey in the Scriptures.
Read & Study
The Bible is large and can be hard to follow, often making it difficult to find its main story. Though it includes many styles and authors, Scripture ultimately presents itself as a unified story that leads to Jesus.
These self-paced plans will guide you through the library Scripture with confidence and curiosity. As you read larger sections each week and study the resources, may you find your story in its story.

Meditate & Memorize
Reading and studying are essential, but the aim of the Scriptures isn’t only information, but formation. Meditating on Scripture helps you slow down and be present with God. The Lectio365 prayer app gives short, daily devotionals to help you meditate and experience God’s presence in your life. If you’re able, consider pairing this app alongside a “Read & Study” plan to find balance between the practices.
Finally, the ancient practice of putting the Scriptures to memory helps store the truths of God so deep in our bodies, they are there when we most need them. These texts then begin to rewire our brains itself, causing us to take on the “mind of Christ.”
